Tesco Express

SCOPE OF WORKS

This project involved delivering a comprehensive package of fire stopping and compartmentation works within a busy Tesco Express store environment in Brighton.

The works were undertaken to improve fire protection measures throughout the store, stairwell areas, and office spaces, while ensuring compliance with current fire safety standards and maintaining programme deadlines linked to store operational requirements.

The project included:

• Supply and installation of internal fire doors

• Dry lining and compartment room works within the main store, stairwells, and office areas

• Fire stopping works following mechanical and electrical installation works

• Sealing and protection of service penetrations to maintain fire compartment integrity

A key challenge on the project was the tight programme timescales due to restrictions around store closures and operational requirements.

Working within a busy live environment required careful coordination, planning, and sequencing of works to minimise disruption to staff, customers, and ongoing store activities while maintaining safe working practices at all times.
